Surah Al-Ahqaf, Ayah 8 (46:8)

ٱلْأَحْقَاف

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖ قُلْ إِنِ ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥ فَلَا تَمْلِكُونَ لِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَئًْا ۖ …

Quran 46:8 is ayah 8 of Surah Al-Ahqaf (“The Wind-Curved Sandhills”), a Meccan surah of 35 ayahs. It is in Juz 26, on page 503 of the Madani Mushaf.

46:8
أَمْيَقُولُونَٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖقُلْإِنِٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥفَلَاتَمْلِكُونَلِىمِنَٱللَّهِشَئًْا ۖهُوَأَعْلَمُبِمَاتُفِيضُونَفِيهِ ۖكَفَىٰبِهِۦشَهِيدًۢابَيْنِىوَبَيْنَكُمْ ۖوَهُوَٱلْغَفُورُٱلرَّحِيمُ٨
am yaqūlūna if'tarāhu qul ini if'taraytuhu falā tamlikūna lī mina l-lahi shayan huwa aʿlamu bimā tufīḍūna fīhi kafā bihi shahīdan baynī wabaynakum wahuwa l-ghafūru l-raḥīmu

Or do they say, "He has invented it"? Say, "If I have invented it, you will not possess for me [the power of protection] from Allāh at all. He is most knowing of that in which you are involved. Sufficient is He as Witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving, the Merciful."(8)
