Surah Al-Kahf, Ayah 40 (18:40)

ٱلْكَهْف

فَعَسَىٰ رَبِّىٓ أَن يُؤْتِيَنِ خَيْرًا مِّن جَنَّتِكَ وَيُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهَا حُسْبَانًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ …

Quran 18:40 is ayah 40 of Surah Al-Kahf (“The Cave”), a Meccan surah of 110 ayahs. It is in Juz 15, on page 298 of the Madani Mushaf.

فَعَسَىٰرَبِّىٓأَنيُؤْتِيَنِخَيْرًامِّنجَنَّتِكَوَيُرْسِلَعَلَيْهَاحُسْبَانًامِّنَٱلسَّمَآءِفَتُصْبِحَصَعِيدًازَلَقًا٤٠
faʿasā rabbī an yu'tiyani khayran min jannatika wayur'sila ʿalayhā ḥus'bānan mina l-samāi fatuṣ'biḥa ṣaʿīdan zalaqan

It may be that my Lord will give me [something] better than your garden and will send upon it a [disastrous] penalty from the sky, and it will become a smooth, dusty ground,(40)
