قَالَ فَإِنَّهَا مُحَرَّمَةٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ۛ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً ۛ يَتِيهُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ فَلَا تَأْسَ …

Quran 5:26 is ayah 26 of Surah Al-Ma'idah (“The Table Spread”), a Medinan surah of 120 ayahs. It is in Juz 6, on page 112 of the Madani Mushaf.

قَالَفَإِنَّهَامُحَرَّمَةٌعَلَيْهِمْ ۛأَرْبَعِينَسَنَةً ۛيَتِيهُونَفِىٱلْأَرْضِ ۚفَلَاتَأْسَعَلَىٱلْقَوْمِٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ٢٦
qāla fa-innahā muḥarramatun ʿalayhim arbaʿīna sanatan yatīhūna fī l-arḍi falā tasa ʿalā l-qawmi l-fāsiqīna

[Allāh] said, "Then indeed, it is forbidden to them for forty years [in which] they will wander throughout the land. So do not grieve over the defiantly disobedient people."(26)
