آلِ عِمْرَان

لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أَتَوا۟ وَّيُحِبُّونَ أَن يُحْمَدُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ …

Quran 3:188 is ayah 188 of Surah Ali 'Imran (“Family of Imran”), a Medinan surah of 200 ayahs. It is in Juz 4, on page 75 of the Madani Mushaf.

لَاتَحْسَبَنَّٱلَّذِينَيَفْرَحُونَبِمَآأَتَوا۟وَّيُحِبُّونَأَنيُحْمَدُوا۟بِمَالَمْيَفْعَلُوا۟فَلَاتَحْسَبَنَّهُمبِمَفَازَةٍمِّنَٱلْعَذَابِ ۖوَلَهُمْعَذَابٌأَلِيمٌ١٨٨
lā taḥsabanna alladhīna yafraḥūna bimā ataw wayuḥibbūna an yuḥ'madū bimā lam yafʿalū falā taḥsabannahum bimafāzatin mina l-ʿadhābi walahum ʿadhābun alīmun

And never think that those who rejoice in what they have perpetrated and like to be praised for what they did not do - never think them [to be] in safety from the punishment, and for them is a painful punishment.(188)
