Surah Ali 'Imran, Ayah 41 (3:41)

آلِ عِمْرَان

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً ۖ قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا …

Quran 3:41 is ayah 41 of Surah Ali 'Imran (“Family of Imran”), a Medinan surah of 200 ayahs. It is in Juz 3, on page 55 of the Madani Mushaf.

قَالَرَبِّٱجْعَللِّىٓءَايَةً ۖقَالَءَايَتُكَأَلَّاتُكَلِّمَٱلنَّاسَثَلَٰثَةَأَيَّامٍإِلَّارَمْزًا ۗوَٱذْكُررَّبَّكَكَثِيرًاوَسَبِّحْبِٱلْعَشِىِّوَٱلْإِبْكَٰرِ٤١
qāla rabbi ij'ʿal lī āyatan qāla āyatuka allā tukallima l-nāsa thalāthata ayyāmin illā ramzan wa-udh'kur rabbaka kathīran wasabbiḥ bil-ʿashiyi wal-ib'kāri

He said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He said, "Your sign is that you will not [be able to] speak to the people for three days except by gesture. And remember your Lord much and exalt [Him with praise] in the evening and the morning."(41)
