Surah An-Nisa, Ayah 109 (4:109)

ٱلنِّسَاء

هَٰٓأَنتُمْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ جَٰدَلْتُمْ عَنْهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا فَمَن يُجَٰدِلُ ٱللَّهَ عَنْهُمْ …

Quran 4:109 is ayah 109 of Surah An-Nisa (“The Women”), a Medinan surah of 176 ayahs. It is in Juz 5, on page 96 of the Madani Mushaf.

هَٰٓأَنتُمْهَٰٓؤُلَآءِجَٰدَلْتُمْعَنْهُمْفِىٱلْحَيَوٰةِٱلدُّنْيَافَمَنيُجَٰدِلُٱللَّهَعَنْهُمْيَوْمَٱلْقِيَٰمَةِأَممَّنيَكُونُعَلَيْهِمْوَكِيلًا١٠٩
hāantum hāulāi jādaltum ʿanhum fī l-ḥayati l-dun'yā faman yujādilu l-laha ʿanhum yawma l-qiyāmati am man yakūnu ʿalayhim wakīlan

Here you are - those who argue on their behalf in [this] worldly life - but who will argue with Allāh for them on the Day of Resurrection, or who will [then] be their representative?(109)

  17. عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhim[over them]
  18. وَكِيلًاwakīlan(their) defender
