Surah Ash-Shuraa, Ayah 52 (42:52)

ٱلشُّورَىٰ

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ رُوحًا مِّنْ أَمْرِنَا ۚ مَا كُنتَ تَدْرِى مَا ٱلْكِتَٰبُ وَلَا …

Quran 42:52 is ayah 52 of Surah Ash-Shuraa (“The Consultation”), a Meccan surah of 53 ayahs. It is in Juz 25, on page 489 of the Madani Mushaf.

42:52
وَكَذَٰلِكَأَوْحَيْنَآإِلَيْكَرُوحًامِّنْأَمْرِنَا ۚمَاكُنتَتَدْرِىمَاٱلْكِتَٰبُوَلَاٱلْإِيمَٰنُوَلَٰكِنجَعَلْنَٰهُنُورًانَّهْدِىبِهِۦمَننَّشَآءُمِنْعِبَادِنَا ۚوَإِنَّكَلَتَهْدِىٓإِلَىٰصِرَٰطٍمُّسْتَقِيمٍ٥٢
wakadhālika awḥaynā ilayka rūḥan min amrinā mā kunta tadrī mā l-kitābu walā l-īmānu walākin jaʿalnāhu nūran nahdī bihi man nashāu min ʿibādinā wa-innaka latahdī ilā ṣirāṭin mus'taqīmin

And thus We have revealed to you an inspiration of Our command [i.e., the Qur’ān]. You did not know what is the Book or [what is] faith, but We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants. And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you guide to a straight path -(52)

  22. عِبَادِنَا ۚʿibādināOur slaves
  23. وَإِنَّكَwa-innakaAnd indeed, you
