Surah At-Tawbah, Ayah 47 (9:47)

ٱلتَّوْبَة

لَوْ خَرَجُوا۟ فِيكُم مَّا زَادُوكُمْ إِلَّا خَبَالًا وَلَأَوْضَعُوا۟ خِلَٰلَكُمْ يَبْغُونَكُمُ …

Quran 9:47 is ayah 47 of Surah At-Tawbah (“The Repentance”), a Medinan surah of 129 ayahs. It is in Juz 10, on page 194 of the Madani Mushaf.

9:47
لَوْخَرَجُوا۟فِيكُممَّازَادُوكُمْإِلَّاخَبَالًاوَلَأَوْضَعُوا۟خِلَٰلَكُمْيَبْغُونَكُمُٱلْفِتْنَةَوَفِيكُمْسَمَّٰعُونَلَهُمْ ۗوَٱللَّهُعَلِيمٌۢبِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ٤٧
law kharajū fīkum mā zādūkum illā khabālan wala-awḍaʿū khilālakum yabghūnakumu l-fit'nata wafīkum sammāʿūna lahum wal-lahu ʿalīmun bil-ẓālimīna

Had they gone forth with you, they would not have increased you except in confusion, and they would have been active among you, seeking [to cause] you fitnah [i.e., chaos and dissension]. And among you are avid listeners to them. And Allāh is Knowing of the wrongdoers.(47)

  16. عَلِيمٌۢʿalīmun(is) All-Knower
  17. بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَbil-ẓālimīnaof the wrongdoers
