Surah Ghafir, Ayah 12 (40:12)

غَافِر

ذَٰلِكُم بِأَنَّهُۥٓ إِذَا دُعِىَ ٱللَّهُ وَحْدَهُۥ كَفَرْتُمْ ۖ وَإِن يُشْرَكْ بِهِۦ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ ۚ …

Quran 40:12 is ayah 12 of Surah Ghafir (“The Forgiver”), a Meccan surah of 85 ayahs. It is in Juz 24, on page 468 of the Madani Mushaf.

40:12
ذَٰلِكُمبِأَنَّهُۥٓإِذَادُعِىَٱللَّهُوَحْدَهُۥكَفَرْتُمْ ۖوَإِنيُشْرَكْبِهِۦتُؤْمِنُوا۟ ۚفَٱلْحُكْمُلِلَّهِٱلْعَلِىِّٱلْكَبِيرِ١٢
dhālikum bi-annahu idhā duʿiya l-lahu waḥdahu kafartum wa-in yush'rak bihi tu'minū fal-ḥuk'mu lillahi l-ʿaliyi l-kabīri

[They will be told], "That is because, when Allāh was called upon alone, you disbelieved; but if others were associated with Him, you believed. So the judgement is with Allāh, the Most High, the Grand."(12)
