Surah Ghafir, Ayah 22 (40:22)

غَافِر

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانَت تَّأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَكَفَرُوا۟ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ …

Quran 40:22 is ayah 22 of Surah Ghafir (“The Forgiver”), a Meccan surah of 85 ayahs. It is in Juz 24, on page 469 of the Madani Mushaf.

40:22
ذَٰلِكَبِأَنَّهُمْكَانَتتَّأْتِيهِمْرُسُلُهُمبِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِفَكَفَرُوا۟فَأَخَذَهُمُٱللَّهُ ۚإِنَّهُۥقَوِىٌّشَدِيدُٱلْعِقَابِ٢٢
dhālika bi-annahum kānat tatīhim rusuluhum bil-bayināti fakafarū fa-akhadhahumu l-lahu innahu qawiyyun shadīdu l-ʿiqābi

That was because their messengers were coming to them with clear proofs, but they disbelieved, so Allāh seized them. Indeed, He is Powerful and severe in punishment.(22)
