Surah Hud, Ayah 8 (11:8)

هُود

وَلَئِنْ أَخَّرْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٍ مَّعْدُودَةٍ لَّيَقُولُنَّ مَا يَحْبِسُهُۥٓ ۗ أَلَا …

Quran 11:8 is ayah 8 of Surah Hud (“Hud”), a Meccan surah of 123 ayahs. It is in Juz 12, on page 222 of the Madani Mushaf.

11:8
وَلَئِنْأَخَّرْنَاعَنْهُمُٱلْعَذَابَإِلَىٰٓأُمَّةٍمَّعْدُودَةٍلَّيَقُولُنَّمَايَحْبِسُهُۥٓ ۗأَلَايَوْمَيَأْتِيهِمْلَيْسَمَصْرُوفًاعَنْهُمْوَحَاقَبِهِممَّاكَانُوا۟بِهِۦيَسْتَهْزِءُونَ٨
wala-in akharnā ʿanhumu l-ʿadhāba ilā ummatin maʿdūdatin layaqūlunna mā yaḥbisuhu alā yawma yatīhim laysa maṣrūfan ʿanhum waḥāqa bihim mā kānū bihi yastahziūna

And if We hold back from them the punishment for a limited time, they will surely say, "What detains it?" Unquestionably, on the Day it comes to them, it will not be averted from them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule.(8)
