وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَأَنتَ فِيهِمْ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَهُمْ …

Quran 8:33 is ayah 33 of Surah Al-Anfal (“The Spoils of War”), a Medinan surah of 75 ayahs. It is in Juz 9, on page 180 of the Madani Mushaf.

8:33

وَمَاكَانَٱللَّهُلِيُعَذِّبَهُمْوَأَنتَفِيهِمْ ۚوَمَاكَانَٱللَّهُمُعَذِّبَهُمْوَهُمْيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ٣٣

wamā kāna l-lahu liyuʿadhibahum wa-anta fīhim wamā kāna l-lahu muʿadhibahum wahum yastaghfirūna

But Allāh would not punish them while you, [O Muḥammad], are among them, and Allāh would not punish them while they seek forgiveness.(33)
