آلِ عِمْرَان

وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ ٱلْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ …

Quran 3:143 is ayah 143 of Surah Ali 'Imran (“Family of Imran”), a Medinan surah of 200 ayahs. It is in Juz 4, on page 68 of the Madani Mushaf.

وَلَقَدْكُنتُمْتَمَنَّوْنَٱلْمَوْتَمِنقَبْلِأَنتَلْقَوْهُفَقَدْرَأَيْتُمُوهُوَأَنتُمْتَنظُرُونَ١٤٣
walaqad kuntum tamannawna l-mawta min qabli an talqawhu faqad ra-aytumūhu wa-antum tanẓurūna

And you had certainly wished for death [i.e., martyrdom] before you encountered it, and you have [now] seen it [before you] while you were looking on.(143)
